TALMAGE – Voters headed to Talmage for voting today may encounter road closed signs on Highway 67.

Nebraska 511 says a pilot car is in operation between Highway 128 near Lorton and Highway 105 at the Brock corner, but there was no pilot car on election Tuesday. The road is closed until November for bridge repair and asphalt.

Talmage hosts one of 10 voting precincts in Otoe County. The McWilliams Precinct has 562 registered voters living from 36 to 72 roads, including Lorton, Talmage and Steamboat Trace Trail near the Missouri River.

Although the detour is not marked, local traffic is using Road 46 to travel between Talmage and Highway 128 near Lorton.

A county bridge is closed on O Road and there are only a few open bridges over the North Branch of the Little Nemaha and the Little Nemaha rivers that converge in the area.
