Deputies suspect fraudulent checks at three banks

TECUMSEH - Deward White, 41, of Omaha is charged with forgery and theft in Johnson County.

A Johnson County sheriff’s deputy told the court that a fraudulent check was cashed for $3,752 at a bank in Sterling. The deputy said he learned that a check had also been cashed at a bank in Syracuse earlier that day and a check was attempted to be cashed at Burchard after White left Sterling.

The Johnson County Court issued an arrest warrant for White.
