Poster Contest Winners
There were 762 poster contest entries from Kindergarten through 5th Grades at Nebraska City Public and Lourdes Central Catholic Elementary Schools.
Posters were displayed in business windows along Central Avenue.
Winners were selected by resident artists at the Kimmel-Nelson-Harding Center for the Arts.
The winner in each age category was presented their award during the Friday Children’s Programs at Arbor Lodge State Historical Park.
Executive Director of Nebraska City Tourism and Commerce, Amy Allgood, commended the children on their beautiful posters this year. Winners received prizes from Arbor Day Farm, including a free day admission to both Arbor Lodge and Tree Adventure.

Arbor Day Poetry Contest
The Friends of Arbor Lodge helped sponsor the Poetry Contest this year, offering special incentives for students to enter their poetry.
The High school winner received a $350 cash prize, and free day passes to Arbor Lodge and Tree Adventure.
The Middle School winner received $150, as well as passes.
Winning teachers received $100 and an Explore-it-All Pass to Tree Adventure and Arbor Lodge. Honorable mention winners were also recognized with a small prize bag and day passes. Nebraska City High School and Lourdes Central Catholic submitted a total of 12 entries.
There were 24 submissions from Lourdes and Nebraska City Middle School Students. Entries were judged by staff at Arbor Lodge with criteria including originality, oral sound, imagery, spelling, and use of theme.
