NEBRASKA CITY – Nebraska City Tourism and Commerce announced changes to its Arbor Day schedule due to severe storms in the forecast.

The two children’s programs on Friday will be held indoors instead of the lawn at Arbor Lodge. The 10 a.m. program will be at Northside and the 1:30 p.m. program will be at Hayward.

The commemorative tree planting, scheduled at 4 p.m. at the Lilac Grove, will now be held inside the Arbor Lodge mansion.

The recognition of the 2024 Arbor Day Honoree and tree planters, plus a reception hosted by the Friends of Arbor Lodge Foundation, will happen at 4 p.m.

If the weather cooperates, attendees will be invited to the Lilac Grove at the end of the reception for a photo.

Saturday events, including the 5k Run, parade and BBQ, remain as scheduled.

Last-minute changes and cancellations will be announced on the NCTC website and Facebook page.
