NEBRASKA CITY - The Morton-James Public Library will host a drawing workshop featuring Nebraska author and illustrator Bruce Arant at 10 a.m. on May 11.

A  Golden Sower winner, Arant launched Arant Creative Group as a full-time illustrator.

Participants in grades kindergarten through sixth grade will draw a pirate hamster in honor of the library’s One Community Hamster Hunt.

Nebraska City- Omaha author/illustrator and Golden Sower winner, Bruce Arant, to host youth drawing workshop on May 11, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Morton-James Public Library’s Kimmel Gallery. The workshop to feature drawing a pirate hamster in honor of our Many Books One Community Hamster Hunt.

Children’s book author/illustrator Bruce Arant is self-taught in a variety of mediums that include chalk pastel, oil pastel, graphite, ink, colored pencil and watercolor. Arant maintains a very active speaking schedule with regard to his writing and illustrating work. He engages audiences in elementary schools, public libraries, teachers' conferences and community organizations, with lively book readings and fun-filled, imagination-driven drawing exercises. Prior to launching Arant Creative Group as a full-time illustrator, author and editor, he enjoyed a career of nearly 20 years in the magazine and custom publishing industry, where he held a variety of editorial and creative positions.
