Charges filed after guns drawn in Syracuse
NEBRASKA CITY – Scott Richardson, 52, of Dunbar is charged in Otoe County with terroristic threats and use of a firearm to commit a felony on April 22.
An arrest affidavit says a sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a Mohawk Street location in Syracuse for a dispute involving guns. The deputy arrived to find two men both with holstered guns.
Investigators say two men asked Richardson to mow somewhere else, but Richardson got off his mower and there was a physical altercation with one of the men. The affidavit says Richardson drew a gun. The men retreated, but one returned with his own gun.
Note: An earlier version of this story indicated a charge of a hate crime. The title of the charge listed on court records says Class 3 felony/hate crime, but Otoe County Attorney Jennifer Panko-Rahe said there is no allegation of a hate crime. The complaint charges a Class 3A felony and does not indicate a hate crime.
