NEBRASKA CITY - The Nebraska City City Council is scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. on Monday, April 15.

The agenda includes swearing in of Hannah Schoen at a police officer and introduction of firefighters Briana Barnes and Colton Lotter.

A public hearing is scheduled on a Growth Fund loan of $45,000 to Gregory Welding.

A discussion on the Trap, Neuter, Return program and Arbor Day events are also expected.

Rachael Inman of the TNR program is asking for increased city funding for the program. The city is currently paying $30 per stray cat that is spay or neutered to help decrease the population of stray cats. The program is asking for an increase to $50 per cat to pay veterinary services.

The city reports 174 pet licenses issued since October.

The mayor will proclaim electrical utility worker day, national fallen firefighters memorial service week and Friday, April 26, at the official date for Arbor Day in Nebraska City.

The Great American Cleanup is scheduled April 24-26 at the sunken parking lot.

The Jaycees Fly-in Breakfast is at the airport Sunday, April 28.

A block party is planned on a portion of Third Corso from 17th to 18th streets on July 5.

NCTC will host the Arbor Day BBQ at the Veterans Memorial Building on Sunday, April 27.
