Ava Buggi - Art has always been a part of Ava’s life. Doodling at the dinner table with her grandparents and drawing on hotel stationery during vacation were essential aspects of her childhood. She couldn’t go anywhere without a notebook and a set of pencils.  Through all of Ava’s work, she introduces a sense of life and exploration. Most of her pieces were created to showcase varying mediums and the adventure of trying a new style.

During the spring, Ava is a sprinter on the Lourdes Central Catholic track team and the lead sound technician for the musical. After high school, Ava plans to attend Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, GA, to major in either graphic or architectural design.

Throughout Ava’s artistic career, she has earned two Silver Keys for watercolor artworks in the Scholastic Art and Writing Competition as well as an Honorable Mention for both her Chair graphite drawing and Huskey Baits Logographic design. This year, Ava’s pastel artwork, Casa Batllo, earned second Best in Show in the Pioneer Conference Art Competition. Arc de Triomphe also earned second place in the Colored Drawing category.

Rachel Dia- Rachel Dia has had a passion for art ever since she was a kid. She has found a love for conveying deeper meaning through her pieces with topics such as mental health, family importance, and cultural beauty.

Rachel uses many mediums for her art, but gravitates towards graphite and acrylic paint. She has had the opportunity to help paint murals nationally and locally while contributing to the community by painting sets for all Lourdes’ productions and face painting for citywide events.

Following her passion, Rachel plans to attend the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a major in graphic design.
