Pamela D. Huie, 70 of Syracuse, passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at the Lakeside Hospital in Omaha. Born on July 31, 1953, in Dallas, TX, she was the beloved daughter of Raleigh and Virginia (Ivers) Huie.

Pam dedicated many years to her career as a truck driver before transitioning to the Unemployment Office for the State of Nebraska, where she served diligently for a decade. Her passion for community service shone through her involvement with organizations such as the Hispanic Center and Open Harvest, both in Lincoln. Upon settling in Syracuse, she discovered a sense of belonging, becoming an active member of Hope Sisters, Sister Study, VFW Auxiliary Post 5547, and the Syracuse United Methodist Church. Pam cherished her time delving into genealogy, nurturing her love for nature, scouring thrift stores for bargains, and caring for her cherished dachshund, Link.

She is survived by her sons Jorge Contreras, Raleigh Contreras, Antonio Contreras & Amadeo Huie; grandson Alihandro Mendoza; sister Linda ‘Huie’ Gallia; also many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Deborah Arrigo.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 12 at 2 p.m. at the Syracuse United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at the Park Hill Cemetery. The service will be livestreamed on the Fusselman Facebook page.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 11 from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. with family present throughout the day.

Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
