Fire danger 'very high' today
Southeast Nebraska, western Iowa
OMAHA - The National Weather Service is reporting a very high fire danger for southeast Nebraska and western Iowa through Monday evening.
Temperatures are forecast to be in the 70s with relative humidity slipping as low as 14 percent. Wind gusts up to 30 mph are expected.
Fires will start easily from all causes and may spread faster than suppression resources can travel. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
The warned area includes Plattsmouth, Nebraska City, Auburn, Falls City, Sidney and Hamburg.
