DUNBAR – Nebraska City Fire and Rescue was dispatched at 1:13 p.m. for a grass fire near 52 and I Road. Dunbar Fire was dispatched for mutual aid three minutes later.

 

Wind gusts of 40 mph were reported while firefighters were at the scene with humidity of 12 percent and air temperature of 58 degrees.

The fire spread was under control by 3 p.m.

The Nebraska Forest Service has all of southeast Nebraska in the extreme danger for rangeland fire through 6 p.m. today.
