JOHNSON, NE - As heard on B103 & B103.FM, the fourth-seeded Johnson-Brock Eagles were ousted by the 13-seed of Bancroft-Rosalie in a heart-pounding District D1-4 girls basketball final Friday night, 65-63, in quadruple overtime!

The teams were knotted up after the first quarter. Johnson-Brock built a 24-19 lead at the half, but then fell behind 38-36 following the third quarter. With 45 seconds left in regulation, the Eagles hit a pair of free throws to tie the game and force OT...but the teams were just getting warmed up. In OT's one and two, each team scored four points, and Johnson-Brock led just once by a single point. In the third bonus session, BR built a second four-point lead in extra basketball, but again JB came back to tie things and force more hoops. In the fourth extra period, the Panthers never went up by more than three, but JB went 5/8 at the free throw line for all of their points, while BR went 5/6 there and hit a single fieldgoal to hold on, 65-63.

Bancroft-Rosalie was led by Samryn Dick's 22 points. She also had seven rebounds, six assists, and ten turnovers. MaKenna James dropped in eleven points & swiped six steals. Johnson-Brock's Taryn Ottemann piled up 32 points & made it a double-double with ten rebounds. Brooklyn Behrends added 15 points. Johnson-Brock finished 22/38 (58%) at the free throw line, while Bancroft-Rosalie hit 10/16 (63%) at the stripe.
