AUBURN – Assault charges have been filed in Nemaha County Court.

Scott Anderson Jr., 53, is charged with assault of an inmate at the county jail on Jan. 8.

Anderson, who is listed in court records as homeless, is accused of injuring the other inmate.

Arthur Reeves, 21, of Peru is charged with assault by strangulation on Jan. 23.

Court records say a woman told Nemaha County sheriff’s deputies that she had been choked, could not breathe and could not yell out for help. She told investigators that the choking stopped when her friend entered the California Street residence.
