Syracuse Rescue calls rising to nearly 1 per day
17 members stretched thin
SYRACUSE - Syracuse rescue squad still in need of members. In January of 2024 the squad had 49 calls. This number has never happened said Chief Wilson.
Wilson said the squad is stretched thin. With only 17 members we can run only three teams and we are always on call. In 2023 Syracuse Rescue Squad answered 363 calls.
Fire Chief Keith McWilliams requested approval for purchase of pressure washer at Wednesday’s city council meeting.
