SPRINGFIELD, NE - The Platteview Trojans & Syracuse Rockets advanced to the Class C1-1 GBB Finals with victories over Falls City & Auburn, respectively, on Tuesday night.

In the first semifinal contest, Platteview's pressure defense forced a number of Falls City turnovers as the top seed punched its ticket to the subdistrict title game, 54-30. The Trojans were up 16-7 after the first quarter, pushed that lead to double digits by halftime, and never looked back. After receiving a poster commemorating her 1,000th career point before the game, Baylee Tex went off for 27 points, despite not hitting a fieldgoal in the fourth quarter. Emily Wiebelhause was the only other Platteview player in double digits with eleven. Falls City got nine points apiece from Ava Armbruster & Ashleigh Kirkendall. The Tigers' season ends with a record of 9-14, while Platteview now sits at 12-10.

In the night's finale, Syracuse used its height advantage to bother Auburn's shooters & own the glass in a 56-30 win over Auburn. The Bulldogs held a brief four-point lead early, but the Rockets soared back for an 18-10 lead after the first frame. That lead built to 13 points at the break and continued to build all the way to the final buzzer. Syracuse put Jayden Meyer on point guard Sydney Binder all night, which frustrated the senior guard and led to a big night for the Rocket junior. Meyer tallied 17 points while limiting Binder to just four. Kadyn Sisco dropped in 15 for Syracuse to help the cause. Auburn was led by the twelve points of Zoe Baltensperger. The Bulldogs end their campaign at 10-13, while Syracuse improve to 14-8.
