NEBRASKA CITY, NE - The Pioneers split a Tuesday night doubleheader against the Blue Devils, as heard on B103.

The Nebraska City ladies won the opening game of the night, 37-34. Plattsmouth was down a point after the first quarter, but came back to take an 18-13 lead at intermission. The third quarter was the turning point for Neb. City, as they won the frame 15-7, before each team scored nine points in the fourth. Plattsmouth's Avery Winters led her team with twelve points, including eight of the squad's nine in the final quarter. Nebraska City got 13 points from freshman Kensie Briley and ten from Tarryn Godsey. NC had lost to the Blue Devils just five days prior, 48-20. The Pioneer girls are now 5-12, while the Plattsmouth ladies sit at 6-10. 

In the last game of the night, it was Plattsmouth grinding out a 47-42 win. Like the girls, Nebraska City's guys had also lost a lopsided contest against the Blue Devils last week, this one by the final of 64-39. Unlike the ladies, though, the Pioneer boys' attempts to bounce back came up just short. Plattsmouth was led by the 18 points of Rylee Johnson, who hit five 3-pointers in the opening half. Gage Olsen was next with a dozen. The Pioneers got nine points from Keston Holman, while three of his teammates each scored eight. NC is now 2-15 on the season, while Plattsmouth has a 5-11 record overall.
