FALLS CITY, NE - The Johnson-Brock Eagles picked up a doubleheader basketball sweep of the Falls City-Sacred Heart Irish on Thursday. 

In game one, the JB ladies jumped on top 19-7 after the opening quarter & hung on for the 49-35 win. Johnson-Brock's lone struggles came at the free throw line, where they went 7/18. The team connected on six treys in the victory, led by the four triples of Natalie Knippelmeyer, who led the team with 16 points. Taryn Otteman helped out with 14 points after dropping in nine in the fourth quarter. Jentry Lochtenberg was the lone FC-SH player in double figures with twelve. The Irish fell to 13-3 with the loss, while the Eagles improved to 14-1.

The nightcap saw the Johnson-Brock guys finish strong for a 46-32 victory. Falls City-Sacred Heart was only down by one at the break, 21-20, and they trailed by just five after the third frame, 32-27. A 14-5 fourth quarter helped J-B pull away. The Eagles shot 37% overall & hit 6/6 at the charity stripe. J-B had three players in double digit points:  Brody Koehler (13), Sloan Pelican (10), and Camden Dalinghaus (10). James Froeschl led FC-SH with eleven points. The Irish are now 9-7, while the Eagles are 15-0.
