SIDNEY, IA - The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office reports the detention of a juvenile following a threat Thursday at the Sidney Elementary School.
The school resource officer was notified of a threat by a student toward other students around 3 p.m., including an alleged threat regarding an explosive device and a firearm.
The school went into a lock down, followed by a search by law enforcement for suspicious devices or weapons. No explosives or weapons were found.
A sheriff’s office Facebook post says the student was taken to the sheriff’s office and then the Juvenile Detention Center in Council Bluffs pending court proceedings.
