18th-Ranked Vikings Too Much for Bobcats
DES MOINES, IA - The Peru State women's basketball team fell to #18 Grand View on Wednesday, January 24, 76-55. The Bobcats are now 6-11 in the Heart of America Conference and 9-12 overall.
The Bobcats had a slow start in the first half but were able to find their groove in the second quarter. Maddy Duncan started out the second quarter with a big 3-pointer behind the arc for the Bobcats. Kaylan Larry had a big quarter, scoring ten points for the Bobcats. Samantha Stewart had eight points in the half with five rebounds and Kylie Diaz tallied four rebounds. The Bobcats were down going into halftime 44-25.
In the second half, the Bobcats had a strong start with two layups in a row by Samantha Stewart. Despite the Vikings' strong offense, the Bobcats didn't let up. Hailey Ingram had a big fourth quarter, scoring six points. Samantha Stewart had eight points in the final half with Olivia Williams having six. The ranked Vikings were able to overcome the Bobcats, 76-55.
Samantha Stewart tallied 16 points, six rebounds and two steals for the Bobcats. Kaylan Larry scored ten points with five rebounds and Hailey Ingram had nine points with three rebounds. Maddy Duncan had six points with five rebounds, Olivia Williams had six points rebounds. Kylie Diaz had six rebounds with three points for the Bobcats.
