Clarke Rides Hot Hand off the Bench to Take Down Bobcats
DUBUQUE, IA - The Peru State men's basketball team was halted by the Clarke Pride on Wednesday night, 84-70. The Bobcats are now 7-8 in the Heart of America Conference and 11-8 overall.
Amir Poat started out the first half with a made layup. The Bobcats and Pride went back and forth throughout the first half with the help of Ajantae Hogan tallying 16 points in the first half. Amir Poat also had four rebounds followed by Carlos Hines with three rebounds. The Pride built up a hefty lead at the end of the first half, as the Bobcats trailed , 48-32.
In the second half, the Bobcats came out strong with a made 3-pointer from Christian Tidiane followed by a made layup by Tidiane. Throughout the half, the Bobcats had nine fast break points and 16 points in the paint. Skylar Wilson had ten points for the Bobcats in the second half, also adding four rebounds. Ajantae Hogan, Sayvon Traylor and Christian Tidiane added seven points with Tidiane also having six rebounds against the Pride in the second half. Even after Peru's efforts, the Pride were able to pull out the win 84-70.
Ajantae Hogan led the team with 23 points, four rebounds and three blocks. Sayvon Traylor had 12 points and five rebounds, while Skylar Wilsons scored 10 points and had five rebounds. Christian Tidiane had 10 points adding seven rebounds for the Bobcats. Carson Lindauer led Clarke to the win, hitting 6/9 from downtown and racking up a game-high 32 points to give his team its first HAAC win of the season.
