Bobcats WBB Team Unable to Keep Pace with Fourth-Ranked Pride

DUBUQUE, IA - The Peru State women's basketball team fell to the #4 Clarke on Monday night, 97-80. The Bobcats are now 6-9 in the Heart of America Conference and 9-10 overall.
In the first half, the Bobcats had a slow start. The Pride were able to pull away in the first quarter with a nine-point lead going into the second quarter. In the second quarter, the Bobcats were determined to close the gap. With the help of Hailey Ingram's 16 points, they were able to close the gap to five points. The Pride led 53-45 going into halftime.
Going into the second half, the Bobcats got a layup by Kylie Diaz followed by a layup by Kaylan Larry. The team worked together to slowly chip away at the Pride's lead and were able to get it down to only eight after being down 12 most of the quarter, ending the quarter down 74-66. Kaylan Larry put up 18 points for the Bobcats in the second half with 11 in the third quarter. In the final quarter, the Bobcats didn't give up the pressure on the Pride. Even through their efforts, the Pride took the win 97-80.
Statistically, Kaylan Larry had 19 points with three steals and three rebounds, and Hailey Ingram was just behind with 18 points while adding six rebounds for the Bobcats. Kylie Diaz had a big game with 13 points, eight rebounds, four steals and three blocks against the Pride. Tiara Dodd tallied ten points adding four steals and three rebounds. Maddy Duncan also added eight points for the Bobcats with two rebounds.
