MURDOCK, NE - In a clash of Knights, it was Elmwood-Murdock that walked away with a double-header sweep of Lourdes Central Catholic on Friday night. The visiting LCC ladies fell to E-M in the opener, 64-46, before the Elmwood-Murdock gentlemen made it a sweep, 51-38.

Game one saw the host squad shoot 52% overall as the Elmwood-Murdock ladies built up a 16-point lead by the break, 38-22, before winning by 18, 64-46. A trio of EM players scored in double figures, led by the 20 points of sophomore Brooklyn Mans, who tacked on five steals. Tatum Backemeyer was right behind with 19 points and another five steals, while Jordan Vogler added 13 points. LCC was just 10/23 at the free throw line in the loss. The visitors were led by the 21-point performance of Jenna Box, but nobody else had more that five for LCC. Elmwood-Murdock moved to 12-1 with the victory, while Lourdes CC fell to 7-4 this season.

In the boys' battle, Elmwood-Murdock went up 12-4 after the opening stanza, kept that 8-point lead at intermission, and added to it in the third quarter of a 51-38 win. Tyson Mans hit for 18 points to lead EM, while Riley Wilson added eleven. Brady Schnitzer was the only LCC player in double digits with eleven points. Interestingly, Lourdes hit 5/10 from 3-point land, but they shot just 38% overall. The win moved EM to 5-7 this season, while LCC dropped to 4-7.
