Myrna Marie (Knake) Warlick was born March 29th, 1937 in rural Avoca, Nebraska to Henry and Mary (Berner) Knake. Myrna passed away peacefully on January 17th, 2024 at the Good Samaritan Society in Syracuse, Nebraska.

Myrna married Alfred Warlick on June 10th, 1955 when the two eloped to Oakland, California. Myrna and Alfred would go on to raise a family and farm in rural Syracuse, Nebraska for many years.

Myrna was a driven career woman in her younger days. She was very proud of her 30-year career as a federal meat inspector. She considered herself an advocate for working women and a trailblazer in a male-dominated field. She would take on many leadership roles throughout those thirty years, eventually retiring in her mid-fifties to focus on her family and farm life.

Upon retirement, Myrna spent most of her time enjoying her grandchildren and inviting dogs and cats into her home to be spoiled. In later years, Myrna would devote herself entirely to the care of her husband, Alfred, keeping him by her side until his final days.

Myrna leaves behind siblings John Knake (and wife Helen), Richard Knake (and wife Charline), Sandra (Knake) Faber (and husband Michael), Willis Knake, Robert Knake and Helen (Knake) Johnson, grandchildren Kori (Buchholz) Vodicka (and husband Brad), Scott Warlick-Farmer (and Ellen McCormick) and Cody Warlick-Farmer (and Kaleigh Palmerton-Harbin) and great grandchildren Belle Vodicka, Enli Farmer and Collins Farmer.

Myrna was preceded in death by her parents, husband, siblings Doris (Knake) Jensen and Morris “Bud” Knake and daughters Lori (Warlick) Buchholz and Kelli (Warlick) Lewton.

Memorial services will be held on Monday, January 22 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Lutheran Church (North Branch) in rural Avoca. The service will be livestreamed on the First Lutheran Youtube page. Burial will follow at the First Lutheran Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
