AUBURN, NE - Auburn & Falls City-Sacred Heart split a Tuesday night doubleheader this week in Auburn.

In the girls' game, the Irish came into Auburn and beat the Bulldogs, 52-39, despite a fourth quarter burst from the Bulldogs. Makinley Scholl led the way for the Irish with 26 points, as her counterpart Jentry Lechtenberg scored 16 points while battling foul trouble most of the night. The first half stayed close, but the beginning of the third quarter changed the game, as the Irish went on an 8-0 run out of halftime, forcing Auburn to call an early timeout. The Bulldogs were led by Sydney Binder with 12 points, while Addy Maddox chipped in with ten points as well. The Bulldogs fall to 5-7, as the Irish jump out to 11-2. Auburn hosts Nebraska City on Friday night, as Falls City-Sacred Heart hosts Pawnee City Friday night.

The Auburn Bulldogs continued their undefeated run in boys hoops, beating Falls City-Sacred Heart 64-48, as Maverick Binder led the way with 29 points. In the first half, Sacred Heart kept the game close, as three-pointers from Cole Taft and Jack Stice kept them in it early. Ultimately, the passing of Auburn won the game, as Cam Leslie found himself open in the paint scoring 13 points of his own. For the Irish, Joe Simon found himself in foul trouble early, as the Irish were beat in the size category, ultimately letting Binder beat them at the free throw line. Falls City-Sacred Heart falls to 7-6 on the season, as Auburn jumps out to an 11-0 mark. Auburn plays Nebraska City Friday night next, as Falls City-Sacred Heart hosts Pawnee City.
