PERU, NE - The Peru State men's basketball team beat the Park Pirates on Monday, 111-69. The Bobcats broke the 3-point record that had been set during the 2022-23 season, making 20 3-pointers against the Pirates. The Bobcats are now 7-6 in the Heart of America conference and 10-7 overall.  

The Bobcats took a commanding lead in the first half, going 16-0 in the first five minutes of the game. With the help of Sayvon Traylor hitting five 3-pointers in the first half, the Bobcats were able to continue to extend their lead. The Pirates couldn't seem to find a way around the Bobcats' defensive efforts including three blocks from Amir Poat and Sayvon Traylor's eight rebounds. David Wingett Jr and Carlos Hines both tallied nine points in the first half as the Bobcats led going into the break, 55-33.  

In the second half, the Bobcats didn't let up, draining eleven 3-pointers after recess, shooting 61% from behind the arc. Quentin Wright had 17 points in the second half, adding three rebounds. Sayvon Traylor also extended his high-scoring game with eight points as the Bobcats continued to extend their lead over the Pirates. Defensively, during the second half, the Bobcats had seven blocks and 22 rebounds. Carlos Austin Jr.'s layup was the game's final score, as the Bobcats won 111-69.  

Sayvon Traylor had an electrifying game with 31 points and 11 rebounds. Quentin Wright tallied 17 points and three rebounds for the Bobcats. David Wingett Jr. had 15 points with five rebounds with Carlos Hines being slightly behind with 15 points and three rebounds. Christian Tidiane had seven points, nine rebounds and two blocks against the Pirates.
