Kruse reappointed as Douglas County Election Commissioner
OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Nebraska Gov. Jim Pillen announced that Douglas County Election Commissioner Brian W. Kruse has been reappointed.
This is Kruse’s third term in the position, which has no term limits. He has been serving as commissioner since 2016 when he was first appointed by then-Governor Pete Ricketts.
“I appreciate the trust Governor Pillen has placed in me to continue leading the Douglas County Election Commission,” Kruse said in a press release Thursday. “It is an honor and a privilege to serve the voters of Douglas County in fair, accurate, and impartial elections.”
All counties with a population over 100,000 must have an election commissioner appointed by the governor, according to state law. Douglas, Lancaster, and Sarpy are the only such counties.
