Candidate filing period begins Jan. 5
Non-incumbents have until March 1 to be on the May primary ballot

NEBRASKA CITY – The candidate filing period for the 2024 elections begins Friday, Jan. 5.
The deadline to file to be on the May primary ballot is Feb. 15 for incumbents and March 1 for non-incumbents.
Up for election in Otoe County are commissioners in districts four and five, currently held by James Parsons and Dan Crownover. In Nemaha County, the district 2 seat currently held by Bryan Mellage is up for election.
Cass County board seats up for election are districts five and four, held by Duane Murdoch and John Winkler.
In state elections, each of the state’s congressional seats are up for election. The first district state legislature seat currently held by Julie Slama is also up for election.
