OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - A 72-year-old woman died Thursday morning as the result of an ambulance crash near the Douglas County line.

The woman was being transported by Gretna Rescue when the ambulance was involved in the crash with two other vehicles at about 10:15 a.m. at 204th and Harrison streets. She was declared dead at the scene.

Authorities said another person who was in the ambulance was injured and transported from the scene.

Reports state that the ambulance had lights and sirens on and was en route to a hospital at the time of the crash.

Northbound 204th Street was expected to be closed until about 1 p.m. In their 2:45 p.m. update, authorities were request drivers to take a different route to avoid the area.

The crash is still under investigation. The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is handling the scene. Authorities from Omaha and Gretna also responded to the crash.
