FALLS CITY, NE - The Falls City Tigers and Palmyra Panthers split a basketball doubleheader on Monday, December 18, with the Panther ladies grabbing a 36-32 win & the Tiger boys snagging a 43-40 triumph. 

In the opening game, Palmyra scored steadily with 8-10 points each quarter in a 36-32 win over Falls City. The Panthers got ten points from Kinsley Havranek before she fouled out, and another ten from Rylie Walter. Palmyra was just 1/6 from downtown in the win. Falls City had a 4-point first quarter and couldn't quite overcome the narrow deficit. The Tigers were a harsh 1/14 from long-range & hit just 7/14 at the free throw line. Ashleigh Kirkendall led the team w/ eleven points. The Falls City girls dropped to 1-5 with the loss, while Palmyra is now 5-2.

On the guys' side, Falls City exploded out of the locker room with 21 points in the opening quarter before being held to just two points in the second frame. Their 10-point lead after the opening stanza was cut to five at intermission. Palmyra put together a 16-point fourth, but couldn't come away with the win. Falls City hit an impressive 5/10 from downtown in the victory. The Tigers got 20 from Cayden Dunkhas, while Drew Erhart led the Panthers with 17. The Falls City guys improved to 1-4, while Palmyra fell to 2-5.
