HUMBOLDT, NE - Falls City-Sacred Heart notched a pair of road wins in high school hoops action on Friday. In the opener, the Irish girls picked up a 47-35 victory at the Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer Titans in Humboldt, NE. HTRS jumped out to a 13-12 lead in the first quarter before Sacred Heart came back for a halftime lead of six points. As the quarters went on, Sacred Heart kept stacking on. Jentry Lechtenburg contributed on both sides of the floor for the Irish, along with Makinley Scholl. For HTRS, their leading scorer Ellie Bstandig found herself with four fouls at the beginning of the third quarter, limiting her effectiveness in the game. The Titans were led by Avery Dierberger and her four three-pointers, as senior Jaylie McNealy scored eight points as well. After Saturday's victory at Southern, HTRS now has a record of 2-5. Sacred Heart holds a 6-0 record after a Saturday victory at Bishop LeBlond in Missouri.

As for the guys, Falls City-Sacred Heart dominated in a 61-31 victory over Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer, as Joe Simon and Jack Stice put on a show. Stice and Simon combined for over 40 points in the victory, as sophomore guard Cole Taft chipped in with a pair of three-pointers. For HTRS, Brogan Dunlap led the offense most of the night, scoring nine points, along with five rebounds, and four steals, but it wasn’t enough to get the win. Other Titans contributed, as Brennan Vaughan scored six points, and Alex Koziol chipped in two three pointers. A Saturday loss to Southern dropped HTRS to 0-7 on the season, while Falls City-Sacred Heart now sits at 4-0 in the young season.
