OLATHE, KS - The Peru State men's basketball team fell in a conference matchup to the MidAmerica Nazarene Pioneers on Wednesday in Olathe, Kansas, 80-63. The Bobcats are now 3-5 in the Heart of America conference and 7-5 overall.
 
The Bobcats started out the first half of the game going point for point with the Pioneers. They started with three big 3-pointers in a row followed by back to back layups. Even with the efforts of the team and a final three pointer in the half by Sayvon Traylor (Sr., Atlanta, GA) for the Bobcats, the Pioneers were able to pull away and gain a lead going into halftime with a score of 41-28.
 
In the second half, the Bobcats came out hot trying to close the gap with the Pioneers. Christian Tidiane (Jr., Council Bluffs, IA) had a good 3-pointer followed by two layups to help the Bobcats. Ty Griggs (Jr., Omaha, NE) was an asset for the Bobcats late in the half with back to back shots in the paint. David Wingett Jr. (Sr., Winnebago, NE), had the final made shot for the Bobcats as the Pioneers were able to take the win 80-63.
 
David Wingett Jr. (Sr., Winnebago, NE), led the team with twelve points, also tallying five rebounds, three steals and two blocks. Christian Tidiane wasn't far behind with ten points and four rebounds against the Pioneers. AJ Richard had eleven points with three assists and two steals with Ty Griggs having eight points. Quentin Wright (Fr., Flower Mound) had nine points and five rebounds with three assists and Sayvon Traylor also adding nine points with three rebounds and two assists for the Bobcats.
