Omaha man charge for rifle after 'high risk' stop
Hunter in tree stand reports being under fire
PLATTSMOUTH – An Omaha man is charged in Cass County after a report of shots fired at the Rakes Creek Wildlife Management Area while it was occupied by a hunter in a tree stand.
Cass County deputies responded after the hunter told a 911 dispatcher that he was under fire. He said four men got into a van and waived their guns at him as they drove away.
A sheriff’s deputy made a traffic stop of a van and says a loaded rifle was found.
Zeferino Ventura, 30, is charged with possession of firearm by a prohibited person on Nov. 22.
