Galen Gartner, age 73, of Unadilla, Nebraska, passed away on November 10, 2023, in Lincoln, Nebraska. He was born on April 9, 1950, in Syracuse, Nebraska, to his parents, Randall W. Gartner and Mary Belle (Frye) Gartner.

Galen was a self-employed electrician and the proud owner of Galen Gartner Electric. He previously owned and operated Cheyenne Electric and Construction companies.  He dedicated his life to building houses, repairing homes and businesses, and leaving a legacy of his craftsmanship in the community.

Galen's life was marked by his passion for various interests. He found joy in working, nurturing gardens, riding motorcycles, and embarking on annual trips to Colorado. He was an active and dedicated member of his community, always ready to lend a helping hand. His love for his family was unwavering, and he relished spending time with his children and grandchildren.

In his spare moments, Galen enjoyed reading and cherished the memories of living on the family farm where he was raised. He had a thirst for knowledge and an unending commitment to maintaining good health.

Galen is survived by his daughter, Jordana Hoegh of Atlanta, Georgia, and his son, Travis (Valya) Gartner of Arlington, Virginia, his seven grandchildren; Madison Griffith, Nyah, Kinley, and Shayden Hoegh, and Henry, Stella, and Ava Gartner, his siblings Gary (Gloria) Gartner of Seward, Nebraska, Nancy Petersen of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Marlene (Jeff) Vidra of Lincoln, Nebraska. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

Galen was preceded in death by his parents, and daughter, Dawn Schaer.

A Celebration of Life Visitation will be held Sunday, November 12, 2023 from 1:00 PM until 8:00 PM with family greeting friends from 4-7 PM at the Fusselman-Allen-Harvey Funeral Home in Syracuse. A burial will be held at a later date at Hopewell Cemetery in Unadilla, Nebraska. The family suggests memorials to the family for future designation.
