Update: An Otoe County Sheriff's Office accident report says a Nebraska City Utilities truck failed to maintain its lane on Highway 67 south of Dunbar on Sept. 22 and dropped off the roadway onto the west shoulder. The driver returned to the road, crossed both lanes and hit a power pole on the east side.

Nebraska City Fire and Rescue took the driver, Grant Stubbendeck, 21, of Syracuse, to Bryan Health Medical Center West for suspected serious injuries.

A passenger, Cody Broadfoot, 29, of Bellevue, was taken to CHI Health St. Mary’s with suspected minor injuries.

The sheriff estimates damage to the truck at $100,000.

DUNBAR – Dunbar and Nebraska City first responders were called at 11:32 a.m. Friday to a rollover accident on Highway 67 near K Road.

A Nebraska City Utilities bucket truck tipped over on its side on the steep-sloped roadside ditch while traveling south of Dunbar.

The truck toppled a power pole, but firefighters said the line was not a hazard when fire crews arrived to secure the scene. Electric crews were also at the scene.

Two ambulances were called and Utility Manager Jeff Kohrs said he was able to speak with both occupants of the truck.
