Kansas man injured in accident near Rulo

FALLS CITY  - The Richardson County Sheriff’s Office reports an injury accident southeast of Rulo on Monday afternoon.

Sheriff’s deputies and the Falls City Volunteer Ambulance Squad responded to 703 Trail and 664 Avenue, where a driver swerved to miss a deer and hit a tree.

A press release says the driver, 56-year-old Jason Lunsford of White Cloud, Kan., sustained serious injuries and was taken by medical helicopter from the scene.

The sheriff reports that safety restraints were not in use.
