NEBRASKA CITY – Nebraska’s “constitutional carry” law for firearms takes effect on Saturday.

Passage of Legislative Bill 77 allows non-felons over age 21 to conceal carry a handgun without a permit and without taking training. Knife Rights says “constitutional carry” also includes knives

Also beginning Saturday, firearm dealers will be required to distribute information on suicide prevention.

Omaha and Lincoln mayor have signed orders prohibiting firearms on city property. The law also forbids concealed handguns a schools, financial institutions, athletic events, places of worship, hospitals and many government buildings.
