Previously missing inmate arrested in Georgia
An inmate that went missing from Omaha was found and arrested in Georgia.
OMAHA, Neb. -- An inmate that went missing from Omaha was found and arrested in Georgia.
The Department of Correctional Services said inmate Andres Willis was arrested by the Turner County Sheriff’s Office in Georgia on Thursday.
Officials said Willis is currently being held at the Turner County Jail. Willis was serving out his sentence at the Community Corrections Center – Omaha.
According to authorities, Willis did not return to the facility on May 22, 2023. Willis was reportedly serving time for possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person out of Douglas County. His sentence was for three to five years and started on Aug. 3, 2021.
