TECUMSEH – The prosecution and defense in a Johnson County rape case are jointly recommending a prison sentence of 50 to 55 years for 45-year-old David Daniels Jr. of Tecumseh.
Daniels entered pleas to first degree sexual assault of a victim under age 14 in August of 2022 and first degree sexual assault of a girl under the age of 12 on Aug. 1, 2021.
Court records say Daniels was first convicted of a sex offense in 1996. He was removed from the state’s sex offender registry in December of 2021, about four months after to the first assault.
Sentencing is scheduled on Sept. 5.
