OPD investigates Saturday night homicide
The Omaha Police Department say they are investigating a homicide that happened Saturday night.
OMAHA, Neb. -- The Omaha Police Department say they are investigating a homicide that happened Saturday night.
Around 9:43 p.m., OPD said they responded to a ShotSpotter alert for numerous gunshots in the 3000 block of Himebaugh Ave.
When officers arrived to the scene, they said they found 33-year-old Lamont Slaughter down in the doorway of the home.
OPD said officers administered first aid until the Omaha Fire Department medics arrived.
OFD medics took Slaughter to a local medical center in extremely critical condition.
According to police, Slaughter was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the hospital.
This is an ongoing investigation.
