TECUMSEH – A Tecumseh State Correctional Institution inmate faces up to 29 additional years in prison after an assault on another inmate on April 3, 2021.

Bailey Brown, 27, was sentenced to 15 to 25-years for assault and four years for possession of a deadly weapon during commission of a felony.

The state Department of Corrections issued a press release in 2021 saying two inmates assaulted another inmate in the yard. The injured inmate suffered cuts and puncture wounds to his arms and torso. Two homemade weapons were recovered by staff members and TSCI was placed in modified operations.

Brown was earlier sentenced in 2020 to two to five years for robbery in Hall County. He was projected for release in August of 2026 before Monday’s sentencing in Johnson County.
