NEBRASKA CITY – Percival residents escaped injury Tuesday when their car was hit by a freight truck on Highway 2 near the Missouri River bridge at Nebraska City.
An Otoe County Sheriff’s Office accident report says 58-year-old Mary Hanshaw had stopped her Nissan at East Fourth Corso and then attempted to turn left into Iowa. The truck driver, Andrew Reid of Fort Wayne, Ind., told investigators he started to slow down, but could not avoid a collision when the car tried to cross westbound lane.
The accident report does not indicate injuries to Hanshaw or two passengers in the Nissan.
