NORFOLK, Neb. -- Authorities said they arrested a 25-year-old Norfolk man for drug charges following a disturbance call.

The Norfolk Police Division said they were called to a home in the 1500 block of S 4th St for a disturbance around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Police said the caller found drugs in the room that 25-year-old Tyler Brandt had been staying in, and that the two of them were now in an argument.

According to law enforcement, Brandt had left the area before officers arrived.

While speaking with the caller, NPD said they found two baggies of methamphetamine, a glass pipe and a hand gun - all belonging to Brandt.

Authorities said that due to previous convictions, Brandt is prohibited from possessing firearms.

NPD said that on Thursday, the Nebraska State Probation office arrested Brandt.

Brandt was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person.

He was housed in the Norfolk City Jail, and later transferred to the Madison County Jail.
