One dead, one injured in Omaha motorcycle accident
One man was hurt and another died from a crash involving two motorcycles in Omaha.
OMAHA, Neb. -- One man was hurt and another died from a crash involving two motorcycles in Omaha.
The Omaha Police Department said officers were sent to Missouri Ave. and L St. around 12:55 a.m. on Sunday for a personal injury crash with two motorcycles.
Officers said a 2007 Harley Davidson was going east on L St. and was followed by a 2005 Harley Davidson. The following motorcycle reportedly hit the back of the first motorcycle.
According to authorities, the second motorcycle went over the curb and flipped over a guardrail, throwing the rider. The first motorcycle that was ran into reportedly lost control and slid.
Officials said both of the riders were taken to a nearby hospital by Omaha Fire Department Medics. The rider of the second motorcycle was reportedly 22-year-old Riley Denisse, of Iowa, and he was declared dead at the hospital.
Police said the driver of the first motorcycle was a 25-year-old man from La Vista. He reportedly had a leg fracture that is considered non-life threatening at this time.
The crash is currently under investigation.
