OMAHA, Neb. -- A three-year-old is currently in critical condition after she nearly drowned at Zorinsky Lake in Omaha.

The Omaha Police Department said officers were sent to Zorinsky Lake on Saturday around 9:05 p.m. for a call of a missing child.

Officers said a citizen was doing CPR on the three-year-old when they arrived. The officers reportedly took over with lifesaving measures until the Omaha Fire Department showed up and took the girl to a nearby hospital.

According to authorities, the child was playing at a playground before she wandered off and was found in the lake shortly after. The girl is reportedly in extreme critical condition at this time.

The investigation is ongoing.
