LINCOLN – The Nebraska Public Service Commission awarded 65 grants totaling over $61 million to bring broadband internet to underserved communities.

 A total of $21 million in grants were awarded to Nebraska’s congressional district 3.

Pinpoint Communications received grants for Brock, Lorton and Otoe.

A $249,000 grant to Otoe will serve 95 customers and a $204,000 grant to Brock will serve 80 customers.

The $61,000 grant to Lorton will serve 24 customers.

Windstream received a $196,000 grant for 41 customers in Brownville.

The commission plans to open an additional window for grant applications in District 3.

Commissioner Chairman Dan Watermeier encouraged projects that were not funded in the 2023 cycle to resubmit applications for the additional application period.
