PLATTSMOUTH - The Cass County Sheriff’s Office reports a three-vehicle accident Wednesday on Highway 75 north of the Highway 66 intersection.

A sheriff’s office press release says A Chevrolet Impala driven by 66-year-old Wayne Ackley of Plattsmouth attempted to slow down and turned into the turning lane. Ackley told investigators that he thought he was pushing the brake pedal, but did not slow down fast enough.

The Impala hit the back of a Ford Fusion driven by 64-year-old Kathryn Bessmer with passenger Timothy Bessmer.

Bessmer’s car was stopped at a light and was pushed into a Chrysler Sebring drivne by 73-year-old Richard Ellington of Plattsmouth.

No airbags were deployed. Kathryn and Timothy Bessmer were transported to the hospital. Ackley was check out and driven home.

 All vehicles were driven away from accident scene.
