2 dead after shooting at Omaha cemetery

OMAHA, Neb. -- Two people were found dead in a funeral home parking lot on Wednesday.

Omaha police said that two people were discovered shot inside a car just after 3:30 p.m.

A man and a woman were found inside an SUV at Westlawn-Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery.

OPD said handguns were found inside the vehicle, though it was unclear if they were used in the shooting.

Employees at the funeral home heard the gunshots.

It did not appear as though any other people were involved, and there is no threat to the public, police said.

Homicide investigators remained on the scene for approximately three hours on Wednesday.
