Jail ordered after crash into pizza restaurant

PLATTSMOUTH - Shawn Boryca, 58, of Verdon has been sentenced to 45 days in jail after his Ford pickup hit two commercial buildings in Plattsmouth last October.

Boryca entered no contest pleas to criminal mischief and reckless driving.

His pickup hit The Jerky Factory and then backed in and out of the former Pizza Hut building.

Judge David Partsch said he did not order restitution because the state did not prove that Boryca has the ability to pay restitution.

The incident happened the week after Papa Reno Pizza held its soft grand-opening at the location. Their carry-out operation was impacted and a temporary wall had to be constructed.
