SYRACUSE – The Otoe County Sheriff’s Office reports a two-vehicle injury accident Saturday at the intersection of Highway 2 and County Road 32.

A pickup traveling south on Road 32 failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection and collided with a westbound pickup on the highway.

The driver from the southbound pickup, a 16-year-old Syracuse male, and a 16-year-old passenger were both injured and taken to Syracuse Area Health. The male passenger was later flown to Bryan Health in Lincoln.

Nickolas Griffen, 26, of Hermiston, Ore., and Mariaha Wilhelm, 29, of Umatilla, Ore., were both injured and transported to Bryan Health in Lincoln.

The crash briefly closed Highway 2 westbound traffic and later restricted travel to one lane.

Radio traffic indicated an incidental accident when a semi-trailer backed up over a stopped motorcycle near the accident scene. The motorcycle was under the trailer. There were no injuries, but traffic was impeded again.
