Hanika sentenced to prison for meth distribution
NEBRASKA CITY – Torrey Hanika, 40, of Nebraska City has been sentenced to four to seven years in prison for delivery of methamphetamine on Jan. 4.
Police and sheriff deputies searched a 12th Street residence and arrested Hanika after 6.6 grams of meth and self-sealing bags were found.
Police obtained a search warrant after an interview with an inmate at the Otoe County Jail. Court records say a confidential informant called Hanika regarding the purchase of meth and traveled to a satellite residence and knocked on a window. At that point the informant was let in.
The search warrant affidavit says Hanika is currently on federal probation for unlawful transport of firearms.
Police say the 12th Street residence was under surveillance and knocking on the side of the residence was common before people were allowed in the front door.
